Dell bringt Crossfire auf den nForce 790i

SLI und Crossfire, zwei Technologien, die sich bisher nur auf einem Skulltrail-Mainboard vereinen ließen, die eigenen Chipsätze setzen nur auf das hauseigene System, Intels Chipsätze unterstützen nur Crossfire. Dell hat nun einen Komplett-PC vorgestellt, der Crossfire auf einem nForce 790i-Mainboard von nVidia möglich macht.

Im Forum von XtremeSystems ist eine Datei aufgetaucht, welche wohl das Platinendesign der kommenden, auf den GT200 basierenden GeForce 9900 GTX beinhaltet. Demnach unterstützt das Topmodell die GeForce 9900 GTX wie erwartet 3-way SLI, für die Stromversorgung verfügt die Platine über einen 6-Pin und einen 8-Pin-Anschluss.

Arctic Cooling mit Accelero Xtreme 9800

Wie vor wenigen Tagen von uns bereits in Erfahrung gebracht, präsentiert der Schweizer Kühlerhersteller Arctic Cooling heute den Accelero Xtreme 9800, eine neue Variante, die mit der kürzlich vorgestellten GeForce 9800 GTX kompatibel ist. Gelistet wird der Kühler bereits für 29 Euro, verfügbar ist dieser jedoch noch nicht.

Kühler der GeForce 9900 GTX aufgetaucht

Nachdem am Wochenende bereits einige Schemata einer auf den GT200-Chip basierenden Grafikkarte aufgetaucht sind, können die Kollegen von PCOnline nun mit ersten Bildern des Kühlers aufwarten. So wird die GeForce 9900 GTX wie erwartet zwei Slots belegen - die Kühllösung ähnelt der der GeForce 9800 GTX und GeForce 8800 GTS sehr.

Neue Details zum EeePC Desktop

Bereits im März sind erste Informationen zum Desktoppendant des EeePCs aufgetaucht, damals handelte es sich noch um Konzeptzeichnungen, die Fertigstellung schien noch in weiter Ferne zu liegen. Nun sind ein erstes Bild und weiter technische Einzelheiten zum “Eee BOX 202″ von ASUS im Internet aufgetaucht.

nVidias GT200 wird GeForce GTX 280

Wie die Kollegen von Fudzilla und HKEPC berichten, soll der GT200 anders als bisher erwartet nicht als GeForce 9900 GTX auf den Markt kommen - als neue Namen werden “GeForce GTX 280″ für das Topmodell und “GeForce GTX 260″ für den kleinen Bruder gehandelt. Zudem wird als Erscheinungstermin der 18. Juni genannt.

Radeon HD 4800-Serie kommt am 16. Juni

Gerüchten zufolge soll die GeForce GTX 280 auf Basis des GT200 am 18. Juni offiziell eingeführt werden - Wie die Kollegen von Fudzilla und andere Medien nun in Erfahrung gebracht haben, möchte in der gleichen Woche auch AMD seine Radeon HD 4800-Serie präsentierten. Als Erscheinungstermin wird der 16. Juni genannt.

AMD ändert das ATi Radeon Graphics-Logo

Nach kurzer Recherche können wir bestätigen, dass AMD mit der Radeon HD 4800-Serie das “ATi Radeon Graphics”-Logo in “ATi Radeon Premium Graphics” umändert. Dabei soll das alte Logo angeblich weiter für die Mittelklasse verbleiben. Damit ändert AMD die Logos nicht zum ersten Mal, bereits 2007 änderte man die Farbgebung.

Galaxy: GeForce 9600 GT als Low-Profile-Karte

Während man HTPCs auch mit Quad-Cores von Intel und AMD befeuern kann, scheiterte das Vorhaben hier einen High-End-Computer aufzubauen, meist an der Grafikkarte - eine GeForce 8400 GS oder Radeon HD 3450 reicht nicht für aktuelle Spiele. So arbeitet Galaxy zurzeit an einer GeForce 9600 GT im Low-Profile-Format.

Keine Radeon HD 4850 mit GDDR5-Speicher

Wie Quellen bestätigt haben, wird AMD anders als bei der Radeon HD 4870 bei dem schwächeren Modell, der Radeon HD 4850 keine Version mit GDDR5-Speicher anbieten. Der Grund hierfür liegt darin, dass man sich selbst keine Konkurrenz schaffen möchte, anscheinend hebt sich die GDDR5-Variante nicht deutlich ab.

Radeon HD 4870 X2 erst Ende des 3. Quartals?

Während die Radeon HD 4870 und Radeon HD 4850 bereits im nächsten Monat erscheinen werden, soll die Radeon HD 4870 X2, welche auf zwei RV770-Chips basiert erst später folgen. Wie wir nun erfahren konnten, könnte der Markstart erst Ende des 3. Quartals stattfinden, so berichtete man uns kürzlich aus Branchenkreisen.
